Message from Steve Laatsch, Principal Heritage

As principal of Heritage School I welcome you to our wonderful community of learners. My goal is to create the best possible learning environment for all of our students. To do this, it is critical that parents, teachers, and students alike work closely together.
I came to Saline over 10 years ago, when I had the good fortune to be hired as the technology instructor at Heritage School. Since then, I have served as a 6th Grade Teacher, Assistant Principal, and now Principal.
I graduated from Michigan State University in 1993 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from MSU, I moved to Takoma Park, Maryland where I taught 6th grade in an elementary school for two years and then middle school science for another two years before returning to Michigan. While in Maryland, I received my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, I am pursuing my Educational Leadership Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
I believe that good communication is a key element in creating a successful school. Feel free to contact me at your convenience to answer any questions about our school!
