Lunch FAQ 

Lunch Options:

Students who do not bring a packaged lunch to school have the option to buy a variety of lunches made available daily by the district. A number of a la carte items, milk, juices, and ice cream products are also available daily. Students are encouraged to eat a nutritious lunch. Lunch menus are posted monthly on the Saline School Food Service website.

Every day, the menu will also include:

    • Fresh fruit
    • Salad Greens

Here are some interesting facts about the Saline Area School Food Service daily program:

  • non-trans fat oil is used for our french fries
  • all our chicken products are non-trans fat
  • we offer baked potato chips which are non-trans fat versus regular potato chips
  • we offer fresh fruits and vegetables daily
  • our tuna is packed in water not oil
  • a salad bar featuring a romaine lettuce mix is offered daily at every school
  • we offer only 100% fruit juice

  • A month of super lunches is approximately $60.00.
  • Five days with super meals is $15.00
  • Checks can be made payable to Saline Area Schools, please include Student ID or Name. 
  • Credit card deposits can be made online through Lunch Deposit.com. There is a fee to deposit money using this website. You can also view your student's lunch records at their site.
 
 
 
 
Special birthday treats can be deleivered to your child's classroom. Call the Food Service Department for more information. 429-8000 extension 2213.  

Applications for free and reduced lunches are available in all school offices and may be submitted at any time. Applications are sent home with all students the fIrst week of school. Students who were receiving free or reduced priced lunches the previous year are continued on the program for two weeks after the start of school to allow time for new applications to be reviewed and processed. All participants must apply each year for the free and reduced lunch program.

Lunch Accounts
Students are expected to maintain a positive balance in their accounts in order to purchase lunches or beverages. Students who do not have money in their lunch accounts are expected to bring lunch from home students will no longer be able to purchase lunches if there is no monev in the account. At the elementary school balance letters will be sent home every week when accounts get below $10.00. At the Middle and High School cashiers will remind students when to bring money in, it is the student's responsibility to advise their parent or guardian. At the Middle and High School the students bring check or money directly to the cashiers in the lunchroom, we will not give money back for checks deposited. Money can be deposited into the accounts by calling food services.

Monthly menus are on Saline Area Schools Food Service Department web site or at the cashier stations. The food service department look forward to the corning year and strives to give the students a friendly place to enjoy their lunch.
